eFoxCity.com September 2012 Wishlist

Autumn is my favorite season, even if we technically don't have autumn here in the Philippines. While a number of countries have four seasons: spring, summer, autumn, and winter, we technically only have two: sunny and rainy. Still, fall season trends tend to be my favorite. Since the autumn season is coming, I decided to do some online window shopping and see what items are now being stocked in online shops. One of the online shops I browsed was  eFoxCity.com . eFoxCity.com is an "online fashion clothing wholesaler" located in China. They have various clothes in their online shop, not only for women, but for men too. They also have a lot of wedding apparel (they even have a whole category dedicated to it). eFoxCity.com, apart from being a online shop, also supplies to wholesalers, retails, and boutiques (online or otherwise). around the world, such as in Russia, Egypt, USA, France, UK, Australia, and, of course, the Philippines. When I think of autumn, I think o...

Simple Riddles and Lessons to Live By

I got this from the profile of braygirl (a fanfiction author on Fanfiction.net) while I was browsing through Hey Arnold! fanfics. I found it really amusing and even though the riddles seem simple, they definitely leave us with lessons to live by. :) ~ ♥ ~ Are you as smart as you think you are? Test yourself and find out! How do you put a giraffe into a refrigerator?  The correct answer: Open the refrigerator, put in the giraffe, and close the door. This question tests whether you tend to do simple things in an overly complicated way. How do you put an elephant into a refrigerator? Did you say, Open the refrigerator, put in the elephant, and close the refrigerator? Correct Answer: Open the refrigerator, take out the giraffe, put in the elephant, and close the door. This tests your ability to think through the repercussions of your previous actions. The Lion King is hosting an animal conference. All the animals attend...except one. Which animal does not attend? Correct An...

Fanfiction Quote # 3

It's been some time since I last made a Fanfiction quote entry don't you think? Well, I've started reading fanfiction again (all thanks to Hart of Dixie) and I came across another fanfiction which is worthy of being quoted. There's actually going to be three separate quotes because the fanfic I read was composed of different drabbles. Anyway, here they are! ---0---0---0---0---0---0--- He found himself thinking of her constantly, any discovery made him turn absently to share it with her. Random sights, funny happening, damn, just breathing made him want to talk to her. ~ "Her," His quiet statement cause a giant gasp from Jenny's clique, which had congregated around their table. The next thing he said was so quiet Helga almost missed it, but it caused her smile to widen, and her heart to soar. "It'll always be her." ~ The beast inside was only beginning to stretch when he looked at her, her blue eyes were wide with surprise. But t...

Rafflecopter: Host Your Own Giveaways

Image
One of the things I've noticed are how prevalent online giveaways are starting to be. Most blogs on the internet, whether hosted on Blogger, Wordpress, Tumblr, and even on Facebook (which doesn't really qualify a a blog host) hold giveaway for their readers. I think it's wonderful and shows how generous people are. :) Anyway, one of the things I dislike is the tediousness of having to click links and buttons (like following someone on Twitter or liking a page on Facebook) and copying and pasting things (such as a tweet). You also can't see how your entries are counted since the bloggers are the ones who compiles the list of entries. These haven't deterred me from entering giveaways though. As I entered giveaway after giveaway, I ended up on one blog which used Rafflecopter for their giveaway. I simply fell in love with Rafflecopter and I think it's a great idea for people to use it for their giveaways. Rafflecopter helps you make a giveaway and makes it eas...

Joke of the Day: The Doctor and the Lawyer

Image
Here’s a post-Valentine’s joke I got from our parish priest last Sunday.  —- . — . — . — . — . — . — Two men, a doctor and a lawyer, were both courting the same girl. Everyday the doctor would bring the girl flowers and a box of chocolates while the lawyer would bring the girl a single red apple. One day, the girl confronted the lawyer and asked why he gave only gives her apples. The lawyer wrote a note and handed it to her. The girl opened the note and smiled. Written on the note was:  an apple a day keeps the doctor away. —- . — . — . — . — . — . — Haha. I thought that was funny. Very clever lawyer. TouchĂ©.  ♥ Daal

Three Lessons from the Wise Men for the New Year

Image
Tomorrow, January 2, 2011, is the Feast of the Epiphany in the Catholic Liturgical calendar . It is during this Sunday that the story of the wise men or the magi is recounted for the assembly. The priest presider for the anticipated mass we attended tonight, Father Japs, gave a wonderful homily about the wise men. The story of the wise men have three lessons which can be used for the New Year. The wise men lost track of the star and instead of going to Bethlehem, where the baby Jesus was, they ended up in Jerusalem. Despite this, they did not give up or lose hope . Although they are known as wise men, they were humble enough to ask for help or assistance from King Herod when they required assistance in locating the star. After meeting the baby Jesus, they went back home through a different way . The qualities of the wise men are qualities that we should take into the New Year. Despite problems and trials, we should learn to  never give up or lose hope . Giving up does n...

What was the last book you read?

The last book I read was Ten Things I Love About You by my favorite romance author, Julia Quinn. It's her recently released book and it's the third book in her Bevelstoke series (the first being The Secret Diaries of Miranda Cheever and the second being What Happens in London). It's a wonderful read. I wasn't totally in love with Annabel Winslow but I did enjoy that she wasn't "thin". As the book describes her, she has quite the bosom and hips that are perfect for childbearing. I did love Sebastian Grey though. He was very charming and he's an author to boot! For those who haven't read Julia Quinn's works, I invite you to do so, especially if you like historical romances. But you'd better start with the Bridgerton series (which is a series of eight books!) because I believe it's her masterpiece. Ask me anything, I dare you! XD

Gratitude Post - August 02, 2010

There's this app on Facebook called God Wants You to Know . It generates a random message for you everyday you visit the app that the app makers call a message from God. I decided to see what "God wanted me to know today" and got this: God wants you to know that you will feel better if you notice the sweetness of life. Notice the smiles of children, the songs of the birds, the caress of the sun's warmth. This sweetness is for you. Allow it to soothe your soul and bring a smile to your face. Because of the message, I decided that I would create a gratitude post for today. After all, there's always something to be thankful for everyday despite the bad things that are happening around.   1. Koi, for proof-reading my Thesis Topic Proposal I am lacking only the proposal of a thesis topic plus my thesis for graduation. After I have finished both of them, I will finally be able to graduate after 8 - yes 8 - long years in college. Because of the difficulty I have i...

Something Salty, Something Sweet - On Favorite Comfort Food

Image
Oven roasted french fries I'm not exactly sure what my favorite comfort food is. I have different food that I want to eat to comfort me when I am depressed. Sometimes I crave for something salty, sometimes something sweet. For the sweet food, it would be a toss-up between gummy bears, ice cream, and dark chocolate. All of them make me very happy in different ways. I love the sweet tangy taste of gummy bears, the sweet taste mixed with the soft coldness of the ice cream, and the rich semi-sweet taste of dark chocolate. For salty food, as unhealthy as they might be, it would be a toss-up between french fries, McDonald's Sausage McMuffin, and plain Lay's with a cheese salsa dip. Because these food are not very healthy, I only eat them rarely (especially in the case of Sausage McMuffin because it's only available during breakfast at McDonald's) so getting to eat them on a day I'm sad cheers me up.

What would your dream job look like?

My dream job changes every now and then but I think that my long standing dream job is to be an author. It has been a dream of mine since I was in high school. I used to feel very confident about my writing but looking back upon it now, I know that I haven't been very critical in my assessment of my writing. But since I know better now, and I want to continue pursuing writing (even as a hobby), I've started to write again to hone my skills and hopefully improve them. I'm trying to practice and write something, anything that comes to mind, every day so that my drive for writing comes back. I'm still passionate about it but since I haven't written in a long time, my drive has lessened. Hopefully (wishing with all my heart), someday, I'll be able to write a children's or young adult story (long enough to be a book) and be published. :) Ask me anything, I dare you! XD

Cooking for Mikko's Birthday

Image
Soba Soup with Crunchy Tofu Squares (c)Yummy and Summit Media Because it was Mikko's birthday yesterday and I barely had money to buy him a gift, I decided to make him a Japanese lunch as my gift to him. Along with cooking for him, I also decided to include as my gift, teaching him how to make California Maki. Our lunch started late because I wasn't able to buy some of the other ingredients earlier, but I'm glad that he enjoyed the meal and the lesson. For our Japanese lunch, our menu consisted of: Yakimeshi (Japanese Fried Rice) Tonkatsu (Breaded Pork Chops) Soba Soup with Crunchy Tofu Squares California Maki The meal was quite heavy and I realized after we ate that I still overestimated the amount of food I cooked. I'm learning though so it's all good. The whole process was tiring, even with help from our helpers, but very enjoyable. I find myself really loving cooking which is making me want to take up Culinary Arts sometime in the future. Well, if I can...

Which would be worse, to live as a monster or to die as a good person?

There's this new anime I'm watching called "High School of the Dead" which is somewhat reminiscent of Resident Evil. Society has collapsed because of the outbreak of zombies which puts the main characters in a constant state of moral dilemma. /*SPOILER ALERT*/ In the pilot episode of the series, the friend of one of the main characters (and is the boyfriend of another main character) asks that he be thrown from the roof of the school before he turns into a zombie. He tells the main character that he'd rather die a a human being than to become a zombie. /*END SPOILER*/ I think that to die as a good person could never be worse as to living your life as a monster. We might not exactly mean to "live" as monster in the sense of fiction (like a Frankenstein monster or a zombie or a demon), but living as a monster, disregarding your morals as a human being, I would never wish to become that. You might as well be a zombie, if you won't use your brains ...

If you could choose, how would you want to die?

From old age probably? Who would want to die a horrible, painful death? I want a peaceful death where I'd die because it was my time. Something like, going to a peaceful sleep and not waking up. :) Ask me anything, I dare you! XD

Who's the funniest person you know?

The funniest person I know would be a tie between Mikko (koi! <3), Mikki (Gran gran!), Hernie, and John Louie! They all can make me laugh really easily. But really, it's very easy to make me laugh. But I think they're the funniest people I know. :D Ask me anything, I dare you! XD

If you could attend any concert, what would it be?

My first choice right now would be Panic! at the Disco and it really sucks that I missed their last concert here in the Philippines because who knows how long it'll be before their next concert here. My next choice is The Hush Sound, which probably might never happen since they're not a famous band here in the Philippines, but I totally love their songs. They're with Fueled by Ramen (http://fueledbyramen.tumblr.com/), the same people behind Panic! at the Disco, Fall Out Boy, Paramore, and Gym Class Heroes, among other bands. After this would be *N Sync (I know you'll probably call me corny) because they're my favorite boy band and I know this is definitely impossible considering the fact that they've long disbanded. Let me hear from you guys. :) Ask me anything, I dare you! XD

What one thing are you exceptionally good at?

Negative: being lazy Positive: cooking! XD Sing for me?

What's the most unselfish thing you've ever done?

I'm not sure. I think I've done lots of unselfish things but I can't really think of the most unselfish thing I've ever done. Sing for me?

What do you think is the best way to defeat terrorism?

Spread love and peace around the world! :D Sing for me?
