Cooking for Mikko's Birthday

Image
Soba Soup with Crunchy Tofu Squares (c)Yummy and Summit Media Because it was Mikko's birthday yesterday and I barely had money to buy him a gift, I decided to make him a Japanese lunch as my gift to him. Along with cooking for him, I also decided to include as my gift, teaching him how to make California Maki. Our lunch started late because I wasn't able to buy some of the other ingredients earlier, but I'm glad that he enjoyed the meal and the lesson. For our Japanese lunch, our menu consisted of: Yakimeshi (Japanese Fried Rice) Tonkatsu (Breaded Pork Chops) Soba Soup with Crunchy Tofu Squares California Maki The meal was quite heavy and I realized after we ate that I still overestimated the amount of food I cooked. I'm learning though so it's all good. The whole process was tiring, even with help from our helpers, but very enjoyable. I find myself really loving cooking which is making me want to take up Culinary Arts sometime in the future. Well, if I can...

Which would be worse, to live as a monster or to die as a good person?

There's this new anime I'm watching called "High School of the Dead" which is somewhat reminiscent of Resident Evil. Society has collapsed because of the outbreak of zombies which puts the main characters in a constant state of moral dilemma. /*SPOILER ALERT*/ In the pilot episode of the series, the friend of one of the main characters (and is the boyfriend of another main character) asks that he be thrown from the roof of the school before he turns into a zombie. He tells the main character that he'd rather die a a human being than to become a zombie. /*END SPOILER*/ I think that to die as a good person could never be worse as to living your life as a monster. We might not exactly mean to "live" as monster in the sense of fiction (like a Frankenstein monster or a zombie or a demon), but living as a monster, disregarding your morals as a human being, I would never wish to become that. You might as well be a zombie, if you won't use your brains ...

If you could choose, how would you want to die?

From old age probably? Who would want to die a horrible, painful death? I want a peaceful death where I'd die because it was my time. Something like, going to a peaceful sleep and not waking up. :) Ask me anything, I dare you! XD

Who's the funniest person you know?

The funniest person I know would be a tie between Mikko (koi! <3), Mikki (Gran gran!), Hernie, and John Louie! They all can make me laugh really easily. But really, it's very easy to make me laugh. But I think they're the funniest people I know. :D Ask me anything, I dare you! XD

If you could attend any concert, what would it be?

My first choice right now would be Panic! at the Disco and it really sucks that I missed their last concert here in the Philippines because who knows how long it'll be before their next concert here. My next choice is The Hush Sound, which probably might never happen since they're not a famous band here in the Philippines, but I totally love their songs. They're with Fueled by Ramen (http://fueledbyramen.tumblr.com/), the same people behind Panic! at the Disco, Fall Out Boy, Paramore, and Gym Class Heroes, among other bands. After this would be *N Sync (I know you'll probably call me corny) because they're my favorite boy band and I know this is definitely impossible considering the fact that they've long disbanded. Let me hear from you guys. :) Ask me anything, I dare you! XD

What one thing are you exceptionally good at?

Negative: being lazy Positive: cooking! XD Sing for me?

What's the most unselfish thing you've ever done?

I'm not sure. I think I've done lots of unselfish things but I can't really think of the most unselfish thing I've ever done. Sing for me?
